WCWC Martial Arts Kid’s Program

Kid’s Martial Arts Training

With our Youth Association, your child will not only learn the highly sophisticated art of Wing Chun Kung Fu, but will become a part of our Kung Fu family whose history is steeped in tradition and dedication.  We do not use a cookie cutter approach to kid’s classes – No McDojo mentality here.  Your child will learn authentic Wing Chun, not a watered down black belt style program.  Our children will learn the difference between defending themselves “on the playground” and when they must fight for their life.  Our classes are small, and your child will be expected to do homework and practice outside of class.  Physical fitness will be included as a part of each class.

In addition to learning real fighting skills, your child will learn martial ethics and philosophy.   Our Code of Conduct handed down to us by our Chung Si, Grand Master Ip Man, teaches to:

Remain disciplined - Conduct yourself ethically as a martial artist.
Practice courtesy and righteousness - Serve the society and respect your elders.
Love your fellow students - Be united and avoid conflicts.
Limit your desires and pursuit of bodily pleasures - Preserve the proper spirit.
Train diligently - Maintain your skills.
Learn to develop spiritual tranquillity - Abstain from arguments and fights.
Participate in society - Be moderate and gentle in your manners.
Help the weak and the very young - Use martial skills for the good of humanity.
Pass on the tradition - Preserve this Chinese art and rules of conduct.

Participation in our Wing Chun Classes and working our curriculum with dedication and perseverance will teach your child these standards and help in her/his development as not only a martial artist, but a well-adjusted human being. Please take a moment and watch the video of a few of our current Gold Sash Curriculum students explain how to earn a Gold Sash.
