West Coast Wing Chun instructor certification represents technical ability, teaching experience, continued development, responsible conduct, and authorization to teach within the WCWC system.
This page is the official West Coast Wing Chun record of current instructor certification and active teaching permits. Only instructors listed here are currently recognized by WCWC as authorized instructors at the level and location shown.
WCWC Master Instructors.
Master Instructor certification represents full-system training, substantial teaching experience, depth of understanding, continued development, leadership, and the responsibility to represent and teach West Coast Wing Chun at the highest level.
There is no automatic timeline for achieving Master Instructor status. Advancement is determined only when the required standards of training, teaching, technical understanding, leadership, and conduct have been met.
Completion and testing through the full WCWC Wing Chun curriculum.
Training and evaluation in Luk Dim Boon Kwan and Baat Cham Do.
Minimum of 400 hours of documented teaching experience.
Two WCWC Advanced Instructor Training courses each year.
Maintain WCWC standards and uphold the principles of Ip Man’s Code of Conduct.
Certification remains an ongoing standard, not a permanent entitlement.
Sifu Bryan Talbot
Founder and Chief Master Instructor of West Coast Wing Chun. Authorized to teach and oversee all WCWC curriculum levels and instructor development.
To present Wing Chun’s principles and concepts as a blueprint for functional application, and to provide clear teaching methods that allow students to understand what they are learning and why it works.
Sifu Sung Choi
Certified WCWC Master Instructor authorized to teach all curriculum levels and participate in advanced instructor development.
To develop capable, disciplined students while building leadership, community, and a lasting positive impact through Wing Chun.
Sifu Kim Squiers
Certified WCWC Master Instructor authorized to teach all curriculum levels within West Coast Wing Chun.
To help students use Wing Chun as a means of deeper self-understanding, creativity, and personal development while learning to look beyond surface appearances.

Jyun Lo Si Level
Jyun Lo Si certification reflects substantial technical skill, teaching experience, and responsibility within West Coast Wing Chun. A Jyun Lo Si has completed the three core levels of the WCWC curriculum and demonstrated the ability to teach students through Boot Camp, Siu Lim Tao, and Chum Kiu.
Successful completion and testing through all three core curriculum levels.
Minimum of 400 hours teaching across Boot Camp, Siu Lim Tao, and Chum Kiu.
Continued progression into the Wing Chun weapons curriculum.
Two WCWC Advanced Instructor Training courses each year.
Maintain WCWC standards and uphold Ip Man’s Code of Conduct.
Must hold a current WCWC teaching permit.
Jyun Lo Si Garrett Vice
Holds an active 2026 WCWC teaching permit at the Jyun Lo Si level.
Brings experience across multiple martial arts traditions to his Wing Chun while maintaining a strong commitment to service, community, and the principle: Respect All, Fear None.

Holds an active 2026 WCWC teaching permit at the Jyun Lo Si level.

Siu Lo Si Level
Junior Instructor certification represents the first formal level of teaching responsibility within WCWC. A Siu Lo Si is actively developing as both a practitioner and teacher under the direction of their Sifu.
Junior Instructors are authorized to teach only within the designated WCWC location and scope approved for them.
Must teach under the direction and supervision of their Sifu.
Two WCWC Advanced Instructor Training courses each year.

WCWC instructor certification is not considered permanent simply because it was once awarded. Instructors remain responsible for maintaining their technical standard, continuing their development, teaching responsibly, and conducting themselves in a manner consistent with the trust placed in them.
