  1. Where is West Coast Wing Chun located?

    West Coast Wing Chun is located at 4501 E Carson St Suite #205, Long Beach in Los Angeles County, California and is the location of our Long Beach school and headquarters.

  2. What affiliations, associations, and accreditations do you have?

    Master Bryan Talbot, the chief instructor at West Coast Wing Chun, is a recognized expert in the art of Wing Chun. Sifu Talbot holds distinguished credentials, being affiliated and recognized by the celebrated Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Kung Fu Martial Art Association, a global advocate for Wing Chun. Notably, he is one of just two representatives from the USA for this esteemed association.

    Sifu Talbot is also certified by the Wing Chun Kung Fu Council under the late Master Ron Heimberger . His association with this council is endorsed by the late Ip Ching, the son of the legendary Wing Chun Grandmaster Ip Man, and aligns with the guidelines of his organization, the respected Ving Tsun Ip Ching Athletic Association.

    These affiliations and accreditations demonstrate Sifu Talbot’s in-depth knowledge of Wing Chun technique and philosophy, reflecting his rigorous training and devotion to the art.

  3. Who is the Sifu of West Coast Wing Chun?

    Master Bryan Talbot is the Chief Instructor for all locations of West Coast Wing Chun and the co-director of the West Coast Wing Chun Organization. 
    Sifu Kim Squiers is the co-director of the West Coast Wing Chun Organization.
    Sifu Sung Choi is the Master Instructor of all West Coast Wing Chun locations.

 

FAQ ENROLLMENT AND COST

  1. How much does it cost and when do I have to pay?

    The standard price for our three-month course is $441, but we’re excited to offer a generous discount for those who choose to commit early. If you register on the night of your free trial class, you’ll secure your spot for just $333, covering the entirety of the three months.  Purchase Wing Chun Boot Camp now. 

  2. When can I start Wing Chun Boot Camp classes?

    Jump into our program whenever you’re ready! Our classes are cyclical, so you won’t miss out. Plus, we monitor your progress carefully to support your learning journey. What’s more, once you purchase the full course, you enjoy unlimited access to our online video classes that you can revisit any time during enrollment.

  3. Are there any discounts or promotions for new students?

    If you choose to enroll on the night of your free trial class, a registration fee of $333 guarantees your spot and covers a comprehensive three-month period.

    We proudly support our veterans, law enforcement and college students by offering a 10% discount on our courses.

    For families with multiple members looking to join, we offer personalized discounts. Please inquire as the discount varies depending on the program of your interest.

    Keep an eye out for our occasional surprise flash sales—they’re not to be missed! To stay informed about these fantastic opportunities, we recommend subscribing to our mailing list.

    It’s important to note that we do not allow the stacking of discounts. Stick with the one that provides you with the most substantial benefit.

  4. What is the cancellation policy?

    Our cancellation policy for both Boot Camp and Whiz Kids programs asserts there are no refunds for these courses. As Wing Chun initiation demands discipline and commitment, we believe this policy helps foster these qualities in our students.

    For students who are on our monthly payment basis, we kindly require a 30-day notice for cancellations.

    We uphold a 90-day commitment policy that pushes our students to stay determined and avoid giving up as they navigate the challenges of the initial learning phase.

    In the rare event that we need to cancel a class, we will attempt to make up the session whenever it is feasible.

FAQ CLASS STRUCTURE AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. What should I wear to my first class?

    If you’re taking part in a trial class, you’re required to wear a white tee, black pants or shorts, along with flat-soled athletic shoes. However, once you enroll formally, you are required to wear the official WCWC white entry-level shirt for your classes.

    For colder weather, it’s required for our younger students to don their official Kung Fu uniforms for both comfort and warmth.

  2. Do I need any special equipment for the classes?

    No special equipment is required for the classes. We do require students purchase their Official Class Tee Uniform and advise the purchasing of training booklets, drill sets, supplementary videos and training equipment.

  3. Can I observe the classes?

    We highly recommend that you actively participate in a free trial class instead of merely observing one. We believe full immersion offers the best opportunity to evaluate whether our program fits your needs. Please note, our classes are reserved strictly for current students to ensure optimal focus and engagement.Exceptions to observation are occasionally made, particularly for children’s programs.   4. Are there any prerequisites or prior experience required to join the classes?

    Every aspiring student must complete our “3-month Intro to Wing Chun Boot Camp” before progressing onto any of our other classes. This course is a mandatory prerequisite for all further instruction.

  5. How strenuous are the classes?

    We crafted our classes to accommodate all fitness levels. With adjustability in workout intensity to fit your individual needs, your safety is our priority. As with the commencement of any new fitness routine, it’s a good idea to check with your doctor first.

  6. What is the class structure like?

    Our class structure unfolds systematically, starting with the suitable level form for the class and progressing into Qi Gong exercises. After this, students move into group drilling and conditioning training.The cornerstone of each class, however, often lies in our comprehensive lectures that provide valuable insights, strategically followed by the essential paired application drills. These segments of the class are integral to the learning experience, as they allow for robust understanding and practical application of the theory.
